About John

With near 10 years of teaching experience, John has helped dozens of SAT students nationwide increase their SAT scores by up to 410 points. He was awarded the Top 10 Tutor Award by Tutors.com in 2020 for ranking among the top six percent of all professional tutors.

By day, John is a technical product owner and software engineer, where he builds strategic roadmaps and codes for a living. When John was a high schooler, he started with a 1230 on the SAT and raised it to a 1510 with a 23/24 Essay by applying the study framework that he shares with his students today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Private tutoring is according to the pricing sheet scale. Students can share a lesson with another student to split tuition cost. Scholarships are available based on financial need and student motivation.

Private tutoring is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. Most students who are aiming for a 1500+ score opt for twice a week lessons, one hour per session.

We will set up a 15 minute free phone consultation where I will discuss what your academic goals are, your current SAT goals, and your interests. From there, I will tailor a custom SAT plan for you based on your unique strengths, needs, goals, and exam date.

My teaching style is warm and responsive. I frame my student's learning in systems by asking about the student's interests, goals, and learning styles. I constantly adjust my style to the student's learning and do not give up until a student has completely understood the topic.

All sessions are conducted online via Zoom. Students will be encouraged to have a writing tablet and pen, such as an iPad and Apple Pencil.
